Policy and Equalities Officer
To rebuild trust, we need everyone to feel included.
At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we want to create an area that our residents are proud to live in. Which is why we’re involving our communities from the start. And we need to ensure we continue to make everyone feel welcome. This includes our residents and our employees. Because ultimately, the Council is a representation of the citizens we work for; by being inclusive internally, everyone’s voice can be heard.
As a Policy and Equalities Officer, you’ll provide a robust and up-to-date policy framework for all areas of the Housing Management service. This means working closely with officers across the directorate team, making sure appropriate strategies and policies are in place. This includes developing procedures that ensure no one feels discriminated against, either directly or indirectly. You’ll also become the department’s equality, diversity and inclusion expert, providing advice on policy formation.
You’ll need to make sound judgements and work with a variety of people, so you’re comfortable communicating with internal and external people at all levels. It will be your expertise in Equalities legislation, Equalities Impact Assessment and policy development that will allow you to excel in this role.
