This department is responsible for housing, communities and improving the lives of local residents.  This includes landlord services and estate management, planning, refurbishment, and advice and support to help maintain healthy and safe homes.

A significant part of our work is focused on creating stronger communities, by working together with local residents on recovery following the Grenfell tragedy.

In response to London’s affordable homes crisis, we are committed to building more social housing to help people on lower incomes to live, work, and raise their families in the borough. Our housing team also work closely with affordable housing providers and other agencies to manage homelessness and give support to older residents to live independently.  Find out more about our vacancies here.

This is your chance to take the lead on Income Recovery and Financial Inclusion for a diverse and interesting borough. There’s real challenge and variety here, and your work will help improve resident’s lives throughout Kensington and Chelsea as we aim to become one of the best landlords in the country.

As a senior figure in our department, you’ll manage and develop a large team of high performing, highly motivated and customer-focused staff, who in turn run our service on behalf of 9000 tenants. You’ll also be responsible for maximising income due to the council while focussing on prevention, early intervention and support, plus real customer satisfaction and resident engagement.

You’ll bring a wide range of skills and experience to the role, including a strong track record of performance management as well as expertise in income collection and debt reduction in a social housing context. You should also be experienced in planning campaigns to promote financial inclusion, involving residents and actively promoting equality and diversity.

Alongside this, you’ll be adept in forging productive working relationships with a variety of contacts, using these connections to make your strategies a success. You should also have a good knowledge of employment and training initiatives that will support residents to realise their ambitions.
