This department is responsible for housing, communities and improving the lives of local residents.  This includes landlord services and estate management, planning, refurbishment, and advice and support to help maintain healthy and safe homes.

A significant part of our work is focused on creating stronger communities, by working together with local residents on recovery following the Grenfell tragedy.

In response to London’s affordable homes crisis, we are committed to building more social housing to help people on lower incomes to live, work, and raise their families in the borough. Our housing team also work closely with affordable housing providers and other agencies to manage homelessness and give support to older residents to live independently.  Find out more about our vacancies here.

This is your chance to take a leading role in Financial Inclusion for a diverse and interesting borough. There’s real challenge and variety here, and your work will help improve resident’s lives throughout Kensington and Chelsea as we aim to become one of the best landlords in the country.

As a senior figure in our department, you’ll provide insight and leadership to the Financial Inclusion Team, embedding a high-performance culture with a strong emphasis on customer service. In turn, your work will help provide outstanding outcomes for our 9000 tenants.

You’ll also be able to show your creativity and flair in designing financial inclusion campaigns, developing projects with the Resident Engagement team that promote tenancy sustainability.

You’ll bring energy and enthusiasm to the role, along with a wide range of skills and experience, including expertise in welfare benefits, debt management, fuel poverty, employment and financial inclusion.

You’ll have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with residents from all backgrounds. You should also have a strong track record of building partnerships across a variety of organisations.

  • To develop policies and procedures to support the financial inclusion function, working closely with other RBKC departments such as Adults and Social Care and Children’s Services.
  • To develop a robust financial inclusion service that’s tailored to the needs of residents, making a positive contribution to wellbeing and tenancy sustainment.
  • To ensure that interventions are proportionate, timely and comply with RBKC policy and procedures.
