This department is responsible for housing, communities and improving the lives of local residents.  This includes landlord services and estate management, planning, refurbishment, and advice and support to help maintain healthy and safe homes.

A significant part of our work is focused on creating stronger communities, by working together with local residents on recovery following the Grenfell tragedy.

In response to London’s affordable homes crisis, we are committed to building more social housing to help people on lower incomes to live, work, and raise their families in the borough. Our housing team also work closely with affordable housing providers and other agencies to manage homelessness, and give support to older residents to live independently.  Find out more about our vacancies here.

This is your chance to take a leading role in our Estates Services team. We’re a diverse and interesting borough, and there’s real challenge and variety here - your work will help improve resident’s lives throughout Kensington and Chelsea as we aim to become one of the best landlords in the country.

As our Estates Services Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering a clean, safe and high-quality environment across our estates and other locations, ensuring communal repairs are dealt with quickly and efficiently. You’ll also support and motivate your team towards high standards and continuous improvement, achieving residents’ satisfaction in the process.

Collaboration is also an important part of the role, and you’ll work with teams inside and outside of the council to get positive outcomes for our residents while securing value for money across our external contracts.

You’ll also make sure we’re compliant with all relevant legislation and internal processes, including data governance, regulatory standards and health and safety provisions.

We’re looking for candidates with excellent team management and organisational skills. You’ll be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines, solving problems and motivating team members. A strong communicator, you’ll be able to deal with contacts of all levels and forge strong working relationships.

Role Requirements:

You should have experience in managing estates in a residential context, along with procurement, repairing, budgeting and contract management skills. You should also have experience in supervising and managing others and building working relationships with external partners.
